New pumpkin book

I'm not sure if anyone else has quite a fascination with pumpkins as I do. But I finally got a new book to read about the culture of pumpkins. The book is titled Pumpkins: The curious History of an American Icon by Cindy Ott. Now I have just started to read the book, but it is awesome so far. I believe it'll help further my own research for my book as well.

Planting time

Its that time of year to start planting pumpkins! If you are in the northern states this is about the time of year you should start planning and planting. If you are in the south I'd wait til late June or early July because of how warm it'll be.
Pumpkins needs at least about 75 to 100 frost free days as well.
Plant them in full sun.
Bu sure when you are planting they have enough space to vine out too. About 50 to 100 square feet. Space the seeds about 5 to 8 feet apart.
If you want put manure in your bed to ensure a healthy crop. If not make sure you till the ground!
Plant the seeds about 1 inch deep with the crown down (pointy end) or on their side.
Water and keep an eye on them.
